HISTORY:

This is a special service to provide -

STUNNING ORIGINAL APPEARANCE auto interiors for American built cars from the 50's into the late 60's.

This is not a volume production "cut and cover" shop. I can, and will, ONLY take on one job at a time. I am among the last of the "old school" coach trimmers. I have NO flunky kids working for me. I have a long background in the commercial arts that gives me a VERY CRITICAL eye for details, color and form. This provides the auto restorer with very high quality work. I take pride in producing excellent forgery of the original trim. Much of my work passes as original.

Aside from complete "one-off" interiors, I can also modify existing reproduction "kit" interiors, before and during installation, to provide a more correct lean, sleek taut look. Installations are available for passenger cars and Corvettes.

REFERENCES:

Many national show winners over the last 30+ years: A.A.C.A., B.C.A., N.C.R.S., L.G.C., N.I.A., V.C.C.A. - just ask for names.

LIMITS & CONDITIONS:

Sorry, NO "Customs," NO "Street Rods," NO "Hot Rods." No autos built after 1968. No cars from the 30's & 40's - although you might coax me into something interesting from this era.

A WORD ON MATERIALS:

The supply of NEW OLD STOCK vinyls and fabrics is rapidly diminishing. I will try to locate these for your job, at a very marginal mark-up in prices. A good amount of quality re-runs of the old vinyls are still to be had.

Leathers:

Leather is NOT of the same quality it was 30 years ago. The hides are chemically tanned too fast, are skivved (split) too thin, grain patterns too weak and analine dyes have been outlawed. The result is basically glove leather rather than seating weight leather that does not have color fastness, is too thin to wear well, and too "chalky" a surface finish. BE FOREWARNED. How long did your leather seats last on your newer car?

CONTACT INFORMATION:

A move to a new address is in the near future. If you seriously appreciate what you are seeing on this website, I invite you to contact me by MAIL. I MUST see several photos of your current interior to be able to quote approximate prices. Please list out exactly what you want completed.

I do NOT have the free time or patience to provide a free evenings entertainment via the internet. Instant gratification on art work is not possible. To keep the work organized, methodical and stunning eats up huge amounts of my time and labor. I simply can't spare the time for casual interests. If your vehicle requires a fast turn-around time in order to sell it, you will probably want your local 3rd world "cut and cover" shop to get you separated from your money with a handful of excuses, and blown out the door, fast.

I am not "some old grump." I am extremely knowledgeable, and will assist all I can.

CURRENT CONTACT ADDRESS:

Yes, I have a phone, but NOT until we decide to get your art work DONE. ALL work is cost + materials. I may require all your old seat covers and trim panels for pattern and reference, so they will fit YOUR particular vehicle - there were "running changes" in production of vehicles. All work will require a significant down payment. It is YOUR responsibility to schedule YOUR project so that all comes together AT THE RIGHT TIME.

Thanks,
Bill Reid
